Android is the target of a new malware called “Joker,” this malware can subscribe users to paid services without their knowledge. Moreover, According to Aleksejs Kuprins, IT security researcher at CSIS, the malware is in 24 applications on the Google Play Store. Since its appearance in June 2019, more than 472,000 times downloaded Joker.

“We have discovered a new Trojan on the Google Play Store,” says Aleksejs Kuprins, malware specialist at CSIS. Besides, according to his investigation, Joker malware allows hackers to steal small amounts of money from Android users. The name “Joker” simply comes from one of the domain names used by hackers.

In fact, this malware can automatically go to a web page offering a paid service (obviously provided by hackers) and force the user to subscribe without his/her knowledge. To achieve this, Joker uses confirmation SMS messages sent by paid services as well as codes sent by operators. Credit cards whose data is stored in your smartphone are then debited. All this is happening without the victims’ knowledge. Furthermore, “In Denmark, Joker has registered his victims for a service that costs $7 per week,” explains Aleksejs Kuprins.

  • I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
