Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 screen replacement program on its official website. According to Apple, watches from both series in some circumstances can form a crack on their screen. Therefore Apple and its Authorized Service Providers will exchange screens for eligible Apple Watches for free.
The Official Announcement:
Apple has determined that, under very rare circumstances, a crack may form along the rounded edge of the screen in aluminum models of an Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3. The crack may begin on one side and then may continue around the screen as shown in the images below.
Not all Apple Watch models are covered by the replacement program. Apple has specified particular models which can be replaced at no additional cost.

The replacement program covers eligible aluminum models of Apple Watches from Series 2 and Series 3 for three years starting either from the date of the first retail sale of the unit or one year from the start date of this program, whichever is longer.
