We got a lot of feedback from multiple Fitbit Versa 3 users claiming that the screen cracks with the minimum impact. We didn’t manage to find anything out there on the support website and we decided to run our own investigation.
We have contacted one of the affected users and we asked him to open a ticket and provide us with more details. His Fitbit’s screen had a crack after dropping the Fitbit Versa 3 on the table – claiming a distance of 2 inches. The crack is visible and doesn’t show signs of big impact.
Fitbit Versa 3 customer support
After contacting the support team via a live chat, the support consultant had ready answers, which proves the amount of damaged screens claims they get daily. The consultant said with the word: “Please be informed that if the Versa 3 has been dropped, it is expected for its display to crack.”
The user was very frustrated after hearing the word “expected” which is understandable and he followed by saying:
“I had a Huawei GT watch for 4 years and I was doing heavy work with it and it never had a scratch, how can you build a device which is expected to be cracked? The modern companies are working on improving the quality and making product robust, while Fitbit is working on improving the maintenance process.”
If the claims are correct, then Fitbit is suffering a similar issue to Sony with its Z3 in 2014 of the iPhone’s weak screens in 2016. This can lead to many people avoiding Fitbit as many competitors gained trust with their reliable and well build devices.
