The beta version is already in full swing, now Huawei also announces the schedule for the final update to EMUI 10 and Android 10. The launch of EMUI 10 comes with the premiere of the Mate 30 Pro smartphone on September 19.
During the IFA 2019 in Berlin, the Chinese manufacturer Huawei commented on its update plans regarding EMUI 10 and Google Android 10. An official timeline for the update indicates that Huawei will equip more than 30 smartphones of its own and the Honor brand with the new operating system. The presentation of the new Huawei Mate 30 Pro kicks off the market launch for EMUI 10 on September 19. In November, the P30 and P30 Pro models, which have already been approved for the beta, will also get the final version of EMUI 10.
Big update wave in December, followed by a long wait
The biggest wave of firmware updates will reach Huawei smartphones in December this year. At Christmas time, not only the Mate 20 family (Standard, Pro, RS, and X 4G) will receive EMUI 10 and Android 10. Also Honor smartphones such as Honor 20, Honor View 20 and Honor 20 Pro. For the remaining models, it seems that the waiting time will be a bit longer, as Huawei states that it will update the P30 Lite, P20, and Mate 10 series models by March 2020. Further Huawei and Honor smartphones will then be supplied with the EMUI 10 download in the second quarter of 2020.
Although the manufacturer provides the new software updates for many models, it also takes more than nine months to do so. During this period, not only the new Mate 30 Pro will be released, but probably also the Huawei P40 Pro. The timetable also depends on the continued embargo of the US administration under Donald Trump. It still puts the Chinese manufacturer on the “blacklist” and thus jeopardizes the cooperation between Google and Huawei. It is unclear whether an agreement will be reached by then in the trade dispute between the US and China.
