It’s hard to disagree with the opinion that Teams has become for many a go-to Office application and even has replaced the default package launcher for Microsoft Office application. Even if we use stand Office apps, such as Word, Excel, and others, a lot of people are already opening them for convenience in the Teams window.
Tasks in MS Teams
More changes are coming to simplify the use of Teams. Microsoft is preparing another rebranding – the plan is to merge and rebrand its Planner application for Teams. The planner app will be renamed as ‘Tasks’ and will consolidate all tasks across Microsoft To Do, Teams channels, Planner, and Outlook Tasks.
We plan to rename the Planner application to Tasks. The new Tasks experience will include individual Tasks and Team and Channel Tasks, just as Files include your personal OneDrive for Business and your team and channel files. We will make this change in two stages.Microsoft’s spokesperson
The changes are to start in May or June and be completed by mid-July. They will include changes inside the applications as well as a new name and logo used in Teams. Initially, the name might be changed to ‘Tasks by Planner and To Do’, but later on, it will become just ‘Tasks’.
