MIUI 11 update

Since September 27, Xiaomi has been offering a beta version of its MIUI 11 update. The company would take advantage of the release of the Redmi Note 8 Pro in India on October 16, a very important market for the brand, to begin the deployment of MIUI 11. This date would, therefore, coincide perfectly with the company’s calendar, which mentioned mid-October for certain smartphone models, such as the Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 8 or the Redmi Note 7 and Pro.

A new batch of phones will then receive the overlay at the end of the month and then in early November. Although based on Android 10, the latest version of Android released by Google in early September 2019. MIUI 11 is based on many Android 9 models.

The update of the Xiaomi smartphones to MIUI 11 will bring a lot of new features. These include softer, rounded icons, a system-wide dark mode, a new Mi Lan Pro system font, as well as new animations, themes, wallpapers, and an improved notification system. Users will also be entitled to the Mi-Go Travel application suite, which makes it easier to book travel tickets. Finally, the Mi Work suite benefits from simplified file sharing thanks to the collaboration between Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo. This protocol connects two smartphones via a Bluetooth connection to transfer files at a speed of up to 20 Mbps. A Chinese AirDrop of sorts!

It was the MIUI India account that reveals the information in a Tweet. Deployment to all relevant smartphones will start in a few days and they expect it to last approximately one month.
