After a few weeks, the day finally came, during the Redmi conference in China, the first TV set of the Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi TV, was presented.
The new Redmi TV has a 70″ screen. It comes packed with 4K HDR screen and Dolby Audio. The computing power is provided by a sixth-generation eight-core Amlogic processor, supported by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage (for photos and applications). Smart functions are connected to our router via Wi-Fi in two ranges: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. On the back of the case, we can find 3x HDMI and 2x USB to connect an external drive or a USB flash drive. Everything is enclosed in a housing with narrow frames around the screen.
In terms of the design, the Redmi TV looks sleek with a massive screen. The bezels around the 70-inch screen are slim and attractive. The brand logo “Redmi” is located on the small box below the bottom bezel.
The TV is equipped with a PathWall system that uses a voice assistant from Xiaomi called Xiao AI. The remote control is the same design as the Xiaomi Mi Box. It connects to the TV via Bluetooth, so there is no need to aim at the infrared diode. The remote control also has a built-in microphone for voice control and communication with Xiao AI.
The Redmi TV is the cheapest 70-inch TV set available in the market right now, with a price in China at 3799 yuan, or $530. Orders can be placed today, and the TV set will be available in stores in China on September 10. Unfortunately, at the moment there is no information about the global sales of TV sets.
