Not all Apple users like the dedicated Apple Music app. Fortunately, Spotify on Apple hardware is getting better and better. The Swedes have just added support for Siri, released an app for Apple TV, and prepared a few improvements for iPads.

Voice control of Spotify is now possible

Until now, only Apple Music could be controlled with Apple’s voice assistant. This changes with the latest Spotify update, which is now available to all iOS users. Using a voice command, you can ask Siri to start playing a specific artist, song, or genre of music in Spotify. Just say Hey Siri, play Ed Sheeran on Spotify or Hey Siri, play Dog days are overs on Spotify. Playback should start automatically as soon as the command is accepted.

Siri finally supports Spotify

Spotify now can also be voice-controlled in Apple CarPlay. Thanks to that, you don’t have to reach for the touch screen or other control systems available in the car to choose your favorite artist or song. This means not only more comfort but also safety – since you don’t have to take your eyes off the road.

Apple TV app and iPad enhancements

Spotify app on Apple TV was also upgraded with some interface enhancements. Spotify on tvOS visually looks really good. Finally, you can comfortably listen to music on your TV without having to use AirPlay on your iPhone.

If you have synchronization of installed applications on Apple TV and Spotify on your iOS device, the application should download automatically. Of course, Spotify is available in the store if someone wants to install the application manually.

Other improvements include better utilization of larger displays, which should provide much more convenient operation mon bigger screens.
