Huawei and google play store

Huawei Phones such as Mate 30 can finally have access to install the Play Store and all Google applications. According to the first testers, the Google App Store can easily be installed on the smartphone by downloading the Google Mobile Services from the web. This process takes no more than 5 minutes. We explain below how it works.

Following the decree signed by Donald Trump last May, Huawei was unable to obtain an Android license for its Mate 30. Smartphones are, therefore, stripped of the Play Store and applications developed by Google, such as Google Maps, YouTube, or Gmail. As Huawei decided not to unlock the Mate 30 bootloader, it seemed at first impossible to install the Play Store without the Google Mobile Services system layer.

Huawei Mate 30: how to install the Play Store in 5 minutes?

According to our colleagues at 9to5Google, it is finally possible to install the Google Play Store and all Google applications in just ten minutes. According to the article, you have to get the APK files needed to install the Google Services Framework. The site allows adding Google Mobile Services without having to unlock the bootloader.

Many testers around the web, including Revick, have achieved the same result with the same technique.

Here’s how to install the Play Store on your Huawei in just ten minutes

  • Open your web browser
  • Go to APKmirror
  • Download the Google Services Framework installer
  • Allow Google Services Assistant to install all necessary files. The program will then install the Play Store on your phone.
  • Restart your smartphone
  • Launch the Play Store
  • Sign in with your Google account and download the applications you want (Gmail, YouTube…)

Not surprisingly, Huawei cannot legally encourage buyers to install the Play Store on their own. Nevertheless, the Chinese manufacturer has made the installation of Google’s services easier than expected, says 9to5Google. It is, therefore, possible to transform, for example, the Huawei Mate 30 into a “normal” Android smartphone by having the play store, including the Play Store. With this workaround.
