Zoom video app is getting more and more popular, taking some market share from Slack or Microsoft Teams. But if you don’t want to install another app, you can also join a meeting straight from your browser. Somehow the option to do it is a bit hidden, but check below how to access it.
How to open Zoom in a browser
Enter your invitation URL in your browser (Chrome or Edge Chromium are the recommended choice). You will see a pop-up asking to open Zoom application.
1. If you don’t want to download Zoom, you can click Cancel.
2. Then click on click here link.
3. This will initiate the pop-up window again. Once again click Cancel. Now you will see that additional line shows up below, allowing you to join from the browser.
NOTE: You can also click Cancel and then download & run Zoom. This will also result in the line with join from your browser to show up. But that way you have to download the application anyway.
Click on the link join from your browser and enter your username to join.
If needed you also have to provide the password to the meeting.
